Hachikō’s story has been told many times, in films, in books and in the statue that still stands outside Shibuya Station. We wanted to tell it in a way no one had seen before: as a painterly animated film, with the kind of hand-crafted look that would normally take a full animation studio, a large budget and years of production to achieve. Working with AI let a small team reach that level of craft, building a 1930s Tokyo frame by frame and holding one painterly style across every shot, so the story could feel as timeless as the memory it comes from.

Watch on YouTube ↗Launch films for Luma’s biggest moments: Uni-1, a model that thinks and generates pixels at the same time; Luma Agents, creative agents that carry a brief from first idea to final delivery; and “Building for the Future,” announcing Luma’s $900 million Series C.

Watch on YouTube ↗Short films and commercials I created, directed and edited to show off Luma’s Ray video models, from first idea to final cut. Overclock turns Midjourney v7 stills into a street-racing story with Ray3 image-to-video; Dead Inside? and Soul Code put Ray3.14’s native 1080p and consistent characters to work.
A three-film campaign for Ray3’s visual annotation, which lets you sketch on a frame (an arrow, a circle, a quick note) to direct what happens next.
